The Orlando Magic have traded forward Aaron Gordon to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a future first-round pick. The deal was announced on Thursday, March 25, 2021, and is the latest in a series of aggressive moves by the Nuggets.
Gordon, 25, is averaging 14.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this season. He has been a key contributor for the Magic, who are currently in the middle of a rebuild.
The Nuggets, meanwhile, are looking to bolster their roster for a playoff push. They are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference and are looking to add depth to their frontcourt.
Harris, 25, is a shooting guard who is averaging 10.4 points per game this season. Hampton, 20, is a point guard who was the 24th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The future first-round pick will be the Nuggets' first selection in the 2023 NBA Draft.
The trade is expected to be finalized before the NBA's trade deadline on March 25, 2021.
